Rivington Hall Barns Wedding Photography

Situated near Chorley & Bolton in Lancashire, Rivington Hall Barn dates back to between the 9th and 13th centuries and today is a very popular & impressive wedding venue. Still retaining its original beams this Grade II listed building is one of the finest wedding venues I have ever been lucky enough to photograph at.

Today, the Salmon Family have the responsibility for everything that happens at Rivington Hall Barn, and maintain a family run ethos who take pride in offering a welcoming and friendly service which was certainly apparent for Ashlea & Paul’s wedding.

Ashlea & Paul’s wedding at Rivington Barn

First of all, all I want to say is wow! What a day for these two incredible humans. The day started off at a near by hotel with Ashlea and her bridesmaids whilst my second shooter Aquilino was with Paul and the groomsmen. From the very beginning I thought the day was going to be brilliant and it started off great. With Hayley McGroarty on Make Up who I have worked with before so knew it was going to be great and Hair by Charlotte on hair everyone looked fantastic. After a shot of tequila and Ashlea’s dad coming to see her to walk her down the aisle, it was soon time to head to Rivington Hall Barn where Paul and the wedding party were waiting.

It was a lovely ceremony and Rivington Hall is now firmly up there as one of my favourite wedding venues. After the formalities of saying the I do’s, the new Mr & Mrs had a guard of honour and confetti before the drinks reception commenced in the conservatory.

Rivington Barn provides the perfect space for drinks reception whatever the weather and today we were inside being entertained by the fantastic magician Ian Lavin who had everyone in disbelief at some of the tricks! After a while it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches which were brilliant, heartfelt and funny – the perfect combination. You can tell how happy these two are and it was great to be a part of their wedding. We did some formal groups in side and then thankfully just after the wedding breakfast we had five minutes rest from the rain and we quickly went out for some couples photos. It is honestly so obvious how much these two love each other and I am so pleased I was able to capture their big day.

Ever since Ashlea first got in touch earlier this year I knew their wedding was going to be brilliant. Especially the evening party and I was not disappointed. The bride & groom certainly know how to party as do their friends. Six15 were in charge of the entertainment and the sax & drums was fantastic – and certainly got everyone in the mood! It is safe to say that Ashlea & Paul’s first dance was pretty impressive with a confetti canon and fantastic finish. The dance floor didn’t really empty and it was brilliant. Up there with one of the best wedding parties I have ever been too. – have a look at the photos, I am sure you will agree the bride & groom looked incredible and everyone had a top day!
