September 2024 saw me back for another brilliant wedding at Foxtail Barns, this time with Tanya and Patrick. This Staffordshire venue is one of those places that has everything you need for a laid-back, stylish and fun wedding day. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be fantastic.
Morning prep
Tanya started her morning at the on-site accommodation where the excitement kicked in straight away. Her dress was by Hope & Ivy, with hair by Cokette Sudlow and make-up by Lauren McCabe. The atmosphere was calm and full of laughter – exactly what you want on your wedding morning.
Meanwhile, Patrick was getting ready with his side of the wedding party. One of the benefits of a wedding at Foxtail Barns is how easy it is to capture both sides of the morning, with everything close by and running smoothly.
The venue – Foxtail Barns
Foxtail Barns, part of the Tawny estate in Consall, Staffordshire, has quickly become one of the most popular venues in the region. The ceremony barn is light, spacious and full of character with exposed brick and timber, offering the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern design. Outside, the landscaped gardens and surrounding countryside provide plenty of space for guests to enjoy and for me to capture natural moments.
Another big plus of a wedding at Foxtail Barns is the on-site accommodation. Couples and their families can stay over, which makes the day flow seamlessly from prep through to party without any need for travel.
The ceremony
Tanya and Patrick’s ceremony took place in the conservatory, a warm and welcoming space that suits both intimate moments and big celebrations. Guests watched as the couple exchanged vows in a setting that really shows why a wedding at Foxtail Barns is such a great choice. The light in this venue is incredible and I love photographing here.
Drinks reception
September weather can go either way, but Tanya and Patrick struck gold. Their drinks reception was held outside, with guests enjoying the sunshine, glasses in hand, and plenty of laughter. For me, it was the ideal chance to capture candid shots and a few quick group photos while everyone relaxed. Whilst the guests took their seat for the wedding breakfast we jumped on the buggy and spent sometime on couples portraits.
Wedding breakfast and speeches
Afterwards, guests moved back inside for the wedding breakfast. Foxtail Barns provides a brilliant atmosphere for food, conversation and laughter. Speeches followed – funny, heartfelt and exactly the right balance – before the evening crowd arrived ready for the party to start.
Evening and party time
Once the evening guests joined, it was time to take things up a notch. A wedding at Foxtail Barns always delivers on the party front, and Tanya and Patrick’s was no different. The barn was filled with music, dancing and plenty of energy, the perfect way to end such a memorable day. It all started with a ceildh which is always good fun.
Why a wedding at Foxtail Barns works so well
Every time I photograph a wedding at Foxtail Barns, I’m reminded why couples love it here. The mix of rustic features and modern facilities makes it both practical and beautiful. Outdoor drinks receptions, a seamless flow between ceremony, dining and dancing, and plenty of stunning backdrops for portraits all add up to a venue that makes weddings easy and enjoyable.
