I am delighted to share these Peckforton Castle wedding photos with you. This stunning castle is a beautiful place for a wedding. Standing one mile away from the village of Peckforton in Cheshire this venue is an incredible place to photograph. Built in the middle of the 19th century this incredible wedding venue has been a family home, a hostel for children during the second world war and today is one of the leading venues in the North west of England. I have photographed weddings here several times now and really enjoy it.
With around 36,000 acres of land, marble floors, red stone building and a beautiful ceremony room this wedding venue provided the perfect location for this lovely couple and their friends and family to enjoy this wedding.
Danielle & Adam were impacted by Covid for their first date, but this wedding was well worth the wait. I started the day with Danielle and her bridesmaids getting ready, when I arrived Danielle had a bottle of Jagermeister as a gift for me – from that moment on I knew this wedding was going to be even better than I expected. After a few shots later for the bride and bridesmaids they were ready and it was soon time for the father of the bride to come and see Danielle. I had heard a lot about the father of the bride in the build up to the wedding and everything I heard was true! I had also managed to spend a bit of time with the groom and his groomsmen who were getting ready at the castle as well. I love being able to capture both groom and bridal preparation it always adds great context to the wedding photos.
Emotional wedding ceremony at Peckforton Castle
The bride and groom met with me before the wedding for a beer and told me that the wedding would be emotional. They were right it was incredibly emotional as soon as the bridesmaids started walking down the aisle the groom couldn’t hide his emotion. There was not many dry eyes in the ceremony room at Peckforton Castle and it was the perfect ceremony for this lovely couple.
After the ceremony it was time for the drinks reception which was full of canapés, drinks and great times. I knew it was really important for the newlyweds to spend time with their wedding guests so that is exactly what they had.
We had some time away for a small amount of group photos and just before the wedding breakfast we went out for couples portraits.
Peckforton Castle Wedding Photos
We were really lucky with the weather to be able to get outside for some couples Peckforton Castle wedding photos. Peckforton castle is such an impressive wedding venue and is the perfect backdrop for couples portraits. We spent 10 minutes away – which also gives the couple some much needed time together.
Wedding party at the Castle
The wedding reception was brilliant and everyone was really having a great time. It was soon time for the first dance with some confetti canons for which meant we were able to have some great first dance photos. I love weddings like this and it was a pleasure to be a part of Danielle and Adam’s wedding at this fantastic venue in Cheshire. It is not often you come across people that you instantly connect with, feel like you have known them forever and genuinely look forward to seeing them again. Danielle & Adam – I look forward to catching up with you for a beer soon.
What the bride and groom said about Andy Griffiths Photography at Peckforton Castle
Where do I even begin….firstly i believe you don’t “just book a photographer” for your wedding day.
It was so important to us that we felt comfortable & relaxed with everybody involved in our day.
We met with other photographers before we found Andy & had some awkward encounters.
I came across Andys page on social media, his pictures were so natural & beautiful.
I shown my sister some of his pictures before i even spoke to him & she got goosebumps.
I sent Andy an enquiry which said we were having a wedding “party”, the kind of wedding where basically if someone was being sick after a few too many then “snap them”.
He got back to me straight away, said it was his kind of wedding & asked if we would like to meet for a beer to discuss further.Myself & my partner Adam met Andy for a beer & a chat, straight away he was on our level, we had a chat about the kind of things we had planned for the day.We a laugh together & told him how important our family was to us.From that moment on the rest was history, we just knew he was perfect for us.
Unfortunately we had to move our original wedding date due to covid, & Andy literally went above & beyond for us.He was with us every step of the way, guiding, reassuring & lifting us up when we needed it.We even met up for a beer with him & his partner Erin, they are just such genuine & warm people.Andy also has an amazing little boy Alby, which it’s clear he adores.
With Andy being such a genuine guy, that truly loves & thinks the world of his family, it was just one of the reasons we knew he was perfect for us.
On the actual day Andy was a wedding planner, one of the girls, one of the boys, part of the family & a photographer all on the same day.
He didn’t have to do all those other things, he just chose too.
Because we were all so at ease, i literally will always remember getting ready in the morning, as one of my favourite parts of the day.
Andy literally ran the day for us, he knew exactly what we wanted & organised us, the staff at our venue & 80 plus wedding guests, in order to achieve all the things we had discussed with him.
Andy even took the wedding planner to one side the morning of the wedding, straight away i thought to myself “he’s absolutely got this”.
The day after our wedding he dropped some taster shots for us from the big day.
They were literally so amazing & got us really excited for what was to come.
Andy delivered our wedding photos on new years eve, which was so very special for us & we will never forget the day we received our wedding pictures.
The first one was an absolute show stopper, as for the rest, well i haven’t been able to put my phone down since..because all i want to do is keep looking through them.
Andy is so incredibly talented & has now become a family friend. He is literally a top guy, up for a laugh, always up for a good drink & is also extremely professional all at the same time.
If your looking to feel totally at ease & relaxed on your wedding day, get the most incredible wedding pictures, that tell the real story of your special day then we..as a family cannot recommend Andy enough.
The guy is an absolute legend & so incredibly talented.
All our love, Danielle & Adam xxx
