The Outbarn is situated in Clitheroe and is one of the best venues in the area. With a wedding license for up to 150 guests this is a fantastic venue for all sorts of weddings. With panoramic views of the beautiful countryside of the Ribble Valley this venue is one of my favourites.

Faye & Gareth’s wedding at The Outbarn, Clitheroe
Faye & Gareth got married at the Outbarn Wedding Venue in Clitheroe. A fantastic wedding venue with beautiful surroundings in the heart of the Ribble Valley.
I met with Faye and her bridesmaids at the The Old Diary Cottage in the morning whilst my second photographer Paul was with the groom and groomsmen at a local pub. It was such a great morning with the bride and bridesmaids and it was soon time for the wedding cars to arrive to move to the church for the ceremony. It was great to be working with Jodie Smith – Hair & Make up again – one of the best in the business.
An emotional Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was held at a local church – St Helens Church in Waddington – the Vicar was superb and allowed us to have free reign of the church. Something that always makes a difference – and I would always recommend people check with the church about photos before booking at the church!
After a lovely and emotional service it was time to head the short 5 minute journey back to the Outbarn.
Drinks reception in Clitheroe
My approach to drinks receptions are the same at every wedding – let the newly weds enjoy their wedding reception with their wedding guests and photograph the formal groups and portraits towards the end of the drinks reception which allows the couples to actually enjoy their wedding with all of their wedding guests, especially in a wedding venue like the Outbarn. With lots of canapés and drinks being enjoyed by the guests we did a small selection of group photos with the Ribble Valley as the backdrop. It was a bit of a wet day at times so it was important to get out when we could. The fact that the beautiful bride didn’t care about her dress getting dirty made things a lot easier!
My approach to wedding photography is something I really believe in and know the difference it makes to couples and their friends and family.
Evening party at the Outbarn
Before the wedding guests enjoyed their wedding breakfast it was time for the speeches – they were brilliant – exactly what you want in wedding speeches, humour, laughter and some brilliant words were said. The father of the brides speech was particularly brilliant.
Soon after it was time for the cutting of the cake and then the best part of the wedding – the evening party to start! The bride and groom started with a traditional first dance which was brilliantly followed up by guests who knew how to party! With capacity for up to 250 people the Outbarn in Clitheroe is the perfect place to party.
It was packed and I love weddings like this – it was fantastic from start to finish with all the wedding guests having a fantastic day. Due to COVID this was my first time at The Outbarn and it is such a great venue – special shoutout to the wedding coordinator Emma who was on hand all day and one of the best I have ever worked with – it makes such a difference to have brilliant staff on hand to ensure the day is running smoothly.
What the bride & groom said about Andy Griffiths Photography at the Outbarn:
I started writing our review about Andy and then started again, and then again. It’s so hard to find the words to do him justice, especially when everyone else says exactly the same thing.
As soon as you confirm him Andy makes you feel like your wedding day is the only one in the world that matters, despite being booked up to his eyeballs because he’s so brilliant. He makes it his job to not only photograph the most special moments from your wedding, but to completely capture the essence of who you are and what matters to you both.
The day goes by so fast and it’s over before you blink, but you really needn’t worry when Andy is your photographer. Even though you hardly even see him, he’s there snapping away. You can just enjoy the atmosphere, be with the people you love and make the absolute most of every second, knowing Andy is capturing it all.
Getting our photos back has been so emotional, each of our photos takes us back to the most amazing moments, it’s like we’re able to relive our day over and over again. Not only are his pictures incredible, Andy is one of the nicest guys you’d ever hope to meet. The morning of the wedding he kept me calm, didn’t invade my space or overwhelm me, made me laugh, gave me advice and basically just slotted in like one of the girls (sorry Andy but it’s true). By the time it came for him to go in the evening we both felt like one of our lifelong friends was leaving early…turns out even bribing him with shots only works for a short while!
But honestly, Andy was undoubtedly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and if I could offer any soon-to-be-weds a single piece of advice it would be get him booked for your special day before someone else does.Andy we can’t ever thank you enough for the day, the photographs and the memories. We hope you know that we will treasure your beautiful work for the rest of our lives, and we are so very grateful we found you.
