Nestled in the heart of Cheshire’s countryside, Mottram Hall provided an exquisite backdrop for Billy and Jess’s wedding celebration. This Grade II listed Georgian mansion, built in 1721, is known for its timeless charm and impressive grounds. Once a grand family residence, Mottram Hall has been carefully restored over the years to become one of the region’s most sought-after wedding venues, boasting elegant interiors and picturesque surroundings that bring a touch of history to every celebration. The newly renovated St Andrews Suite at Mottram Hall
I started the morning with the bridesmaids in the bridal prep room before spending some time with Billy and his groomsmen. It is so good to be able to easily get to both preps. The morning was brilliant fun – even when one of the bridesmaids decided to try and teach the page boy how to open champagne for it to be a spectacular fail. With no harm done, it was soon time for Jess to get in her dress and do the reveal.
For their special day, Billy and Jess chose the St Andrews Suite for their ceremony—a striking space which has recently been renovated. With large windows that fill the room with natural light, perfect for their beautiful ceremony and heartfelt vows. Lasting Memories by Alison transformed the suite with soft, tasteful decor that made the atmosphere both romantic and welcoming.
The ceremony itself was both moving and filled with joy, as close family and friends watched Billy and Jess exchange their vows. Afterwards, the newlyweds took some time for portraits in the grounds of Mottram Hall, making the most of the beautifully manicured lawns and historic stonework. The weather held out wonderfully, allowing the couple to capture some truly timeless shots in the golden light of late summer.
A perfect day at Mottram Hall
One of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly the speeches. Jess’s dad, Billy gave fantastic speeches before Billy’s dad, who also took on the role of best man stole the show. The best man gave a speech that struck the perfect balance between heartfelt and hilarious. He shared childhood stories of Billy that had everyone in stitches, and his pride in his son was evident as he spoke about Billy’s journey to the man he is today. His blend of humour and warmth set a relaxed and joyful tone, bringing laughter and a few tears to the room.
Jess’s father followed with an equally moving tribute to his daughter, expressing his admiration for her and welcoming Billy into the family with open arms. His words of love and pride, mixed with a dash of humour, resonated deeply with everyone in the room. Finally, Billy’s own speech was a heartfelt thank-you to Jess, his family, and friends, capturing the deep connection he and Jess share and how grateful he was to celebrate the day with everyone he cared about.
Wonderful Party at Mottram Hall
As the speeches concluded, the evening festivities began. The St Andrews Suite was transformed into a vibrant reception space, with Will Maden on hand as the DJ to keep the energy high. Known for his ability to read the room, Will’s setlist had everyone on their feet and dancing well into the night. The atmosphere was electric as friends and family joined in to celebrate, making for a truly unforgettable evening.
Mottram Hall, with its blend of history and modern elegance, was the perfect setting for Billy and Jess’s wedding—a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Congratulations to the happy couple on their extraordinary day!
