Colshaw Hall
Wedding Photography
A stunning wedding venue in Cheshire
Colshaw Hall is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph at in Cheshire. The Grade II listed hall is owned by the Irlam family and is situated in Over Peover just outside of Knutsford. With fantastic grounds that are exclusively yours on a wedding day this venue is such a sort after wedding venue. Once you tie the knot in the Ceremony Hall or if you’re lucky enough to get married in one of the two licensed garden areas, the magnificent Peel suite is where the wedding breakfast and evening reception take place.
You can get in touch with the team here. You may also want to download their brochure which you can do here
Emotional Day at Colshaw Hall
Josh & Carla spent the day with friends and family at Colshaw Hall and it was such a beautiful day to be a part of. I am lucky enough to be photographing weddings at Colshaw Hall on a regular basis and I really do enjoy it. The team from Colshaw Hall and Barretts catering will really looking after you on your big day, making sure you have the best day possible.
I started the day with Carla and her bridesmaids in the cottage before heading up to the main house. I split my morning between both bride and groom and I soon headed to see the groom who was at the Den with his groomsmen. It was such a great morning and I knew today was going to be a fantastic day photographing their wedding at Colshaw Hall.
It’s was soon time to get married in the ceremony room, Cheshire East are the registrars for Colshaw Hall and they are always fantastic! The ceremony was of happiness and love and it was great to be part of it. Once married, it was time for confetti and then drinks reception in the Pavillion at Colshaw Hall. I left the newly weds alone for their drinks reception at Colshaw Hall, capturing natural moments throughout. Although the weather was slightly against us we managed to get outside for some great couples portraits which is always incredible at Colshaw Hall.
Fantastic Speeches & Singing Waiters
The speeches were great today and once food was served the singing waiters started – it was a complete surprise to everyone which had great reactions followed by 40 minutes of dancing and entertainment which everyone enjoyed. After a quick turn around it was time for the evening party and Colshaw Hall again providing the perfect space for a great evening.
An incredible Colshaw Hall Wedding
Today was one of my favourite weddings of the year. Everyone was so welcoming and Carla’s dad was brilliant. He was emotional all day and you could just tell how much he cares for Carla and how proud he is of her. The bride and groom had the best day at Colshaw Hall and I am so pleased to have been part of their day.
Thank you so much for having me along to photograph your wedding – it was fantastic and I loved being a part of it at Colshaw Hall.
What Josh & Carla said about Andy Griffiths Photography
I don’t even know where to start! I guess I will start off by simply saying if you are looking for the best photographer in the business then look no further!! My now Husband hates having his pictures taken so I was on the hunt for a certain photographer that takes natural photographs that wasn’t staged or posed, this is when I came across Andy and I am so glad I did! During our couple shots, Andy made us both feel so comfortable and relaxed. We simply walked around the grounds while Andy snapped away and we was soon back partying with our guests.
Andy was also great at ensuring whole group pictures ran smoothly (including taking the photo with my Grandad first so he could go back inside to sit down) and made sure they was done before the rain arrived. Andy was so helpful not only on the day but on the lead up to the wedding too. He was happy to answer any questions I had as well as sending me tips and advice. I have just recently received my pictures and WOW they’ve blown us away! Andy has captured the most beautiful photographs and the emotion just shines through on each one.
Each photograph took us right back to how we felt in that moment. Andy was also just simply amazing on the day.
Honestly you didn’t even know he was there yet honestly you didn’t even know he was there yet he got the most amazing photographs that we are going to treasure forever.
Andy also fitted in with the family on the day, everyone commented on how amazing and lovely he was. Still to this day we get compliments on how great he was and how talented he is. Andy is simply so much more than an incredible photographer!
Myself and Josh will be forever grateful to have met Andy and for all the amazing photographs that he has taken to help us remember our special day.
Thank you again Andy – you was such a big part of making our wedding day the best day of our lives!

Colshaw Hall Useful Information
What is the history of Colshaw Hall ?
Colshaw Hall is a Grade II-listed building that was built in 1903 for textile magnates, the Peel family. It is a Tudor-style manor house that was designed by renowned Cheshire architect John Douglas who was also responsible for building projects for Prime Minister William Gladstone and soap giant William Lever.
The building has been an important part of the local community for many years and at one time was used as an auxiliary hospital during World War One. Severely damaged by fire in the twentieth century it was bought by the Irlam family in 2001 who restored the hall and its grounds to its former beauty and Colshaw Hall became a family home again. David Irlam and his wife decided that it was simply too big to be a family home so opened up their home as what you see today – one of the finest wedding venues in the country. Still owned by the Irlam family this is a family run business that know how to deliver the finest of service and weddings.
