Grange Barn Wedding Photos

Grange Barn
Wedding Photography

I am delighted to share another Grange Barn wedding photography blog. Grange Barn is a family run wedding venue and is situated in the picturesque village of Marbury on the Cheshire / Shropshire border. Opened in the summer of 2019, Grange Barn is a newly converted barn on a working arable farm. The Barn has beautiful views over the Cheshire countryside and offers the opportunity for a relaxed and rustic wedding. Sally and her team will really look after you for your wedding and this venue truly is brilliant.

You can have a look at Grange Barn in more detail here. To get in touch with the Sally and the team to arrange a viewing you can here.

Olivia & Simon’s Wedding at Grange Barn

Olivia and her bridesmaids got ready in the loft at Grange Barn which is the perfect space to get ready for the wedding. I also drove a short distance to catch up with Simon and his groomsmen who were getting ready near by.

The bride and groom got married at the local church, St Marys in Marbury, Cheshire. It has to be said the vicar here is one of the nicest I have ever met, she is so personable and friendly and keen to ensure the couple gets the photos they deserve!

After they tied the knot it was time for confetti, we did have a little bit of rain so we had to do the confetti outside the church pretty quickly. It was just a short drive back to Grange Barn where the Estate Boys and Samuel James Events were waiting with drinks and canapes for the guests. We were lucky enough to have drinks outside as the weather cleared. Grange Barn is the perfect place to enjoy the Cheshire countryside for your wedding drinks reception.

Wedding Party at Grange Barn

Towards the end of drinks we did a small amount of group photos and before the couple were announced into the room we spent around 10 minutes doing couples photos.

Speeches were wonderful and full of laughter and happiness. Everyone had a great time and it was soon time for the evening party! Smudges disco was in charge and it was a great evening. Grange Barn is a really great space for a wedding and is a firm favourite to photograph at.

Congratulations to you both and thank you for having me along to tell your story. I hope you had the best wedding at this incredible venue.

Useful information about Grange Barn

Grange Barn is an approved premise for civil ceremonies. Couples can get married in our beautiful indoor ceremony area or (weather permitting!) can have an outdoor ceremony on the decking overlooking the spectacular views. If you would like a church service, we are a stones throw away from the beautiful Saint Michael’s Church of Marbury. There are also a handful of lovely churches all within a 5-10 minute drive from Grange Barn.

Tell us about Grange Barn? The history of the farm, the barn etc

The farm house was built in 1858, and the farm was originally a dairy farm with the barn being used for cattle. Renovations began on the barn in January 2019, and we have maintained plenty of it’s original features. We have not altered the building structurally, maintaining (and obviously repairing!) the roof and the metal stanchions. We have re-purposed the huge barn doors doors, so as to keep the authenticity of the barn.

How long have you been in business for?

The Barn officially opened in June 2019, and had our first wedding July 2019.

What made you want to become a venue?

Both my husband and I are from Cheshire and when we were looking to get married in the area three years ago, we couldn’t find anywhere we liked. All the venues we looked around were either formal hotels, or had plenty of restrictions so we decided in the end to get married in our parents field. When my parents-in-law purchased Grange Farm, they were discussing knocking down the old cattle barn so my husband and I approached them with the idea of turning it into a wedding barn. They loved the idea, and since then the concept of Grange Barn was born! We hope the barn brings a different type of venue to the Cheshire area – we really want it to be a relaxed, fun and rustic space which couples can really make their own.

What do you most enjoy about the wedding industry?

Meeting so many wonderful couples! I also love the Friday before a wedding at the barn … it’s always such fun with plenty of people popping in and out, and everyone running around organising the set-up. We have chosen to only host 1 wedding a week on the farm as we didn’t want it to feel like a wedding factory. Because of this, our couples have access to the barn from midday on Friday so they can have all afternoon to get the barn looking just how they would like!

What is your top tip for bride / grooms?

Enjoy it! We understand at times it can be stressful, but it is such a special time in your lives. We like to think the couples getting married at Grange Barn have plenty of support in the lead up and on the day itself, so they really can enjoy the whole experience.
