Ashfield House
Wedding Photography
Ashfield House is an exclusive wedding venue in Standish, Wigan and I am delighted to be an Ashfield House wedding photographer! This stunning country house that was built in 1755, it was granted permission to become a luxury hotel and restaurant in 1993. Over the years it was likely to be made into apartments but thankfully the recession stopped that. That is when Katie the daughter of Mel who now runs Ashfield House had a vision of creating a stunning country house wedding venue. It is safe to say this has been achieved and more. Since they started weddings it has become one of the best wedding venues in the North West and U.K picking up multiple awards along the way.

Richard & Gail’s wedding at Ashfield House
Richard & Gail both got ready for their wedding at the beautiful Ashfield House. I spent the majority of the morning with Gail and her bridesmaids in the bridal suite. It was a really relaxed morning and everyone was in great spirits. I was working alongside James Tracey Wedding Films which is always great. We work in such a similar style and have a combined package.
It was soon time for the ceremony and what a gorgeous ceremony room it is at Ashfield House. The bride & groom invited around 70 of their closest friends and family and it was a lovely service.
Once they had become official we headed outside for confetti, drinks and canapes. Towards the end of the drinks reception we had some formal group photos and decided it was best to leave the couples portraits until after the wedding breakfast because it was so bright!
Couples portraits at Ashfield House
Ashfield House is a fantastic wedding venue and is the perfect space for couples portraits. With so many different places to photograph it really is a wedding photographers dream. We were really lucky with the weather today as it was gorgeous but at a wedding venue like this you really don’t need to worry about the weather because there is so much opportunity to be creative both inside and out. It was fantastic heading out with such stunning sunlight. It was really easy to photograph the bride and groom together as you can just tell how happy they are together.
Evening reception at Ashfield House
With more evening guests arriving at Ashfield House after the wedding speeches the atmosphere was fantastic and it clear how happy all of the bride and grooms friends and family were that they had tied the knot.
The evening party kicked off with the first dance, then it was time to party and the guests didn’t disappoint, it was a great atmosphere and I was delighted to be Richard and Gail’s wedding photographer.
They asked me to stay later until 10.30pm and I am so pleased I did. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Halton, thank you so much for having me along to your wonderful wedding.
