James & Becky’s Perfect Outdoor Grange Barn Wedding

There are some weddings that remind you exactly why you love photographing real moments, and James and Becky’s Outdoor Grange Barn wedding was one of them. The atmosphere, the people, the setting, and the weather all came together perfectly for an incredible day from start to finish.

Before diving into the day itself, it’s worth taking a moment to talk about the venue. Grange Barn is one of Cheshire’s most popular countryside wedding venues and it’s easy to see why. Located just outside the picturesque village of Marbury, it’s surrounded by rolling fields and peaceful farmland. The barn combines rustic charm with modern touches, offering a relaxed and stylish space for couples to celebrate exactly how they want – it really is the perfect space for an outdoor Grange Barn wedding.

One of the biggest advantages of Grange Barn is that couples get the venue for three days. That extra time allows everyone to set up, unwind, and enjoy every part of the experience without feeling rushed. The barn itself is bright and spacious, with large windows, high wooden beams, and an open layout that works beautifully for both summer and winter weddings.

As a recommended photographer at Grange Barn, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph plenty of weddings there from the very beginning. Sally and the team are fantastic people and a lovely family and I absolutely love a outdoor Grange Barn wedding, and each one has its own unique energy. James and Becky’s outdoor ceremony was one of the most memorable I’ve captured at this venue.

The morning began at the barn with Becky and her bridesmaids. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of excitement as everyone got ready together. The bridal prep space at Grange Barn is perfect for photography and for creating a calm start to the day.

After spending time with Becky and her bridesmaids, I headed to a nearby Airbnb where Jay and his groomsmen were getting ready. The lads were in good spirits, helping each other with ties and cufflinks and sharing a few laughs along the way. Capturing both sides of the morning always tells a fuller story of the day, and these moments often turn out to be some of the most genuine photographs. I then headed back to the girls before the Outdoor Grange Barn Wedding.

The weather couldn’t have been better. Sunshine, a little cloud and a light breeze, created the perfect setting for an outdoor Grange Barn wedding. The ceremony area overlooks open countryside, giving a beautiful backdrop for both guests and photos.

As Becky walked down the aisle, there was a real sense of emotion and anticipation. The outdoor Grange Barn wedding ceremony was heartfelt, full of laughter, and perfectly suited to the relaxed surroundings. The best man did a great reading followed by the vows! Once the couple exchanged vows and rings, they walked back down the aisle to cheers and applause from family and friends. Honestly I really do enjoy an outdoor Grange Barn Wedding.

Straight after, guests gathered outside for confetti and congratulations, and it was clear how much love and happiness filled the air.

Not only is the space perfect for an outdoor Grange Barn wedding but the drinks reception took place outdoors, with guests enjoying the sunshine, chatting, and raising a glass to the newlyweds. Big Five Catering handled the food for the day, and they did an excellent job as always. Their team are friendly, efficient, and the food always gets plenty of compliments.

During this part of the day, I like to focus on natural moments – people laughing, catching up, and enjoying themselves. It’s when guests are most relaxed, and Grange Barn provides a stunning backdrop for those candid shots.

After the drinks reception, we organised a few relaxed group photos. The open space around the barn is ideal for this, offering plenty of room without feeling formal. Everyone was in high spirits, and we kept things light and fun.

Once the group photos were done, I spent some time with James and Becky for their couple portraits. The surrounding countryside is perfect for natural, unposed photography. We took a short walk around the fields, and the light was incredible. The couple were relaxed and completely at ease, which always makes for the best photos.

Inside, the barn looked fantastic. Guests were seated for the wedding breakfast, and the laughter and conversation filled the room.

The speeches were a real highlight. There was a brilliant mix of humour and heartfelt emotion, and the reactions from guests were brilliant to capture. Big Five Catering once again impressed everyone with delicious food and seamless service.

As the evening set in, we made the most of the light for a few more photos. The countryside views around Grange Barn are particularly beautiful at sunset, and it’s always worth taking a short break from the reception for a few final portraits in that golden light.

When it came to the evening celebrations, the atmosphere was electric. The music started, and the dancefloor filled instantly. Grange Barn is brilliant for evening parties – the space flows perfectly between the bar and dance area, keeping everyone together and the energy high all night long.

Guests danced, laughed, and celebrated with the newlyweds late into the night, rounding off what had been a fantastic day. Starting with an outdoor Grange Barn wedding and finishing off with an incredible party! The best dancing award certainly goes to the father of the bride – he was brilliant.

Where do I start with Andy…

He was incredible from start to finish. From our initial enquiry when he was half way up a mountain photographing a wedding and took the time to reply to us with all of the info, to our wedding day where he was made sure we were both so relaxed, what we needed to do and where we needed to be.

The photos he’s sent us are outstanding, over half of which we didn’t even know he’d taken which is exactly what we wanted. He didn’t take us away from our guests and actually allowed us to enjoy our day.

To top it all off he’s just an all round incredible person, which all of our guests commented on both on the day and afterwards, so we can’t recommend him enough.

Book Andy for your wedding and you will not be disappointed.
