I am so pleased to share this Samlesbury Hall wedding photography blog. Samlesbury Hall is a beautiful stately home and a fantastic wedding venue in Lancashire. It is also a charity so when you get married at this impressive venue you also help them continue their work. They have been hosting weddings for over seven decades and the Whittaker Room is the perfect setting to tie the knot. Once wed you can enjoy your wedding breakfast and evening party in the 700 year old Great Hall – surely one of the oldest venues in the UK! You and your guests can also stay over with 27 shepherd huts to choose from.

Laura & Ash’s wedding at Samlesbury Hall
I had to share this blog with you all, I was truly delighted and honoured to be the photographer for this lovely couple. Laura and Ash haven’t had it easy growing up and found love through their mutual disability and friends – they are both blind. They met several years ago through mutual friends before Laura moved from the Black Country up to Manchester to live with Ash. They since got engaged and obviously on the 6th of August 2021 got married. They were also meant to get married in 2020 but due to Covid had their date changed.
The day started at the near by Samlesbury Hotel for bridal prep with the inspirational bride, the mother of the bride, bridesmaids and flower girls.
The ceremony was lovely and the groom couldn’t hide his emotions at marrying the love of his life Laura. The lovely couple had soon said their vows and were officially married. The weather was against us for large parts of the day with very heavy rain – but we soon had a break in the rain and managed to get outside for photos and some of the drink reception.

It was soon time for the wedding breakfast and speeches and they were brilliant – after the groom received a pep talk from his best man – the speeches took place and they were fantastic. Ash was fantastic and everyone was delighted with his speech and although nervous he absolutely smashed it.
Soon after the speeches we were onto the cutting of the cake and first dance. Everything went perfectly and these two lovely, inspirational and incredible people pulled off a fantastic wedding which everyone enjoyed. I am truly honoured to tell their wedding story and it honestly was one of the highlights of my wedding photography career to be chosen to photograph this wedding at Samlesbury Hall
