Middleton Lodge Wedding Photography

I am absolutely delighted to share this Middleton Lodge Wedding Photography Blog.

Middleton Lodge is a fantastic venue in the North of Yorkshire. Situated near the quaint village of Middleton Tyas in North Yorkshire, Middleton Lodge Estate offers a truly unique wedding day. The estate itself is a Georgian country manor, rich in history and surrounded by expansive gardens and woodland. It is clear to see what makes it a sought-after venue for couples looking to host a sophisticated yet relaxed wedding.

Each venue within Middleton Lodge is available for exclusive hire, allowing couples to personalise their wedding experience fully. The estate’s experienced events team assists in planning every detail, ensuring a seamless and memorable celebration.

The Fig House: Elegant and Intimate

For a Middleton Lodge Wedding, The Fig House, where Jess and Jaime held their ceremony and reception, is a stunning building with a contemporary design that perfectly complements the estate’s historic character. Originally a potting shed for the estate’s gardens, it has been thoughtfully renovated into a stylish, light-filled space. Large windows flood the room with natural light, creating a serene atmosphere that connects the inside to the lush gardens outside.

For a more botanical ambiance, the two-acre Walled Garden, featuring the Fig House, offers a picturesque backdrop. The Fig House can accommodate ceremonies and dining for up to 130 guests, with evening celebrations extending to 200 guests. The Boiler Bar within this area provides a charming space for ceremonies of up to 120 guests.

The Walled Garden: A Hidden Gem

A short stroll from the Fig House, the Walled Garden is one of Middleton Lodge’s standout features. Enclosed by centuries-old stone walls, the garden is a secret, tranquil haven, perfect for intimate moments during a wedding. Filled with a variety of plants, flowers, and mature trees, it changes with the seasons, offering a stunning backdrop no matter the time of year.

In October, as Jess and Jaime’s wedding took place, the garden was a palette of rich autumnal tones – deep reds, oranges, and golds. This natural beauty meant that little additional decoration was needed, as the garden itself provided a picturesque setting for their drinks reception.

The Walled Garden also connects with other parts of the estate, such as The Coach House and The Orangery, offering flexibility for couples looking to create a seamless flow between different parts of their day. The garden is not only a visual delight but also a space that invites guests to relax and enjoy the open air in an intimate, secluded environment.

The newly weds had a fantastic wedding at Middleton Lodge and were lucky enough to not only get married outside but also have their whole drinks reception outside. The day started off with Jess and her bridal party before catching up with James and his groomsmen. It was a chilled start to the day and it wasn’t long before the groom was waiting in the walled gardens whilst Jess was doing a first look to her bridesmaids and her lovely dad. Once this was done it was time to take the short stroll to the outside ceremony. Jess looked fantastic and didn’t stop smiling all day.

The walled gardens is the perfect space to enjoy your drinks reception, canapes and spend sometime doing group photos and couples portraits. Once these were done it was time for the wedding breakfast. The three speeches were fantastic and everyone enjoyed them and there was also some emotional scenes which is always nice to capture. Once the wedding breakfast was over it was time for cocktail hour before the first dance, which was the perfect opportunity for everybody to get ready for this Middleton Lodge Wedding Party.

The bride and groom has the best wedding – it was a fantastic atmosphere with brilliant guests all day. The dance floor was packed and it was clear everyone was up for a party. Weddings like this are fantastic to be a part of and I absolutely loved photographing this Middleton Lodge wedding and I can’t wait to return.
