Grange Barn
Wedding Photography
I am delighted to share another Grange Barn wedding photography blog. Grange Barn is a family run wedding venue and is situated in the picturesque village of Marbury on the Cheshire / Shropshire border. Opened in the summer of 2019, Grange Barn is a newly converted barn on a working arable farm. The Barn has beautiful views over the Cheshire countryside and offers the opportunity for a relaxed and rustic wedding. Sally and her team will really look after you for your wedding and this venue truly is brilliant.
Sarah & Josh’s Wedding at Grange Barn
Grange Barn always provides a wonderful wedding and today was no different, I absolutely loved being part of their wedding. It was a jam packed wedding with singing waiters to top off a fantastic meal by Big 5.
I spent the morning with Sarah and her bridesmaids, not forgetting her mum who was top value all day!
After the bridal reveal to her dad it was time to walk the very short distance into the barn to get married by Your Ceremony (Cheshire East Registrars)
Grange Barn Wedding Photos
Grange Barn is a great space for your wedding and perfect for wedding photos. It’s as time for confetti and then straight into drinks reception. Everyone had a great time – we did the small amount of group photos and then headed off for a walk up the drive for couple portraits. The couple’s dog joined us which is always a treat!
Fantastic party at Grange Barn
Speeches were before the meal today and the bride also gave a speech which is always great. Although she did miss her seat on the way back down which was a little funny.
After the rest of the wonderful speeches it was time for singing waiters that everyone in a great mood for the evening festivities. They always provide some fantastic moments to capture.
Cake cut was followed by first dance and then and then the party started. All in all a wonderful wedding and I had a fantastic time photographing at this wonderful wedding and I am delighted to share this Grange Barn Wedding Photos blog.
What the couple said about Andy Griffiths Photography at Grange Barn:
Biggest thanks!
We had no idea where to start when looking for a photographer, Andy was listed on our venues website and after a quick look on instagram we knew his style suited our personalities.
I enquired over Instagram and he was so quick to respond, I think we had him booked in about 10 minutes! A very fast and easy process. We felt lucky to have him as we were told how quickly he gets booked up.
We both hate being infront of the camera, having photos taken was something that I was particularly nervous about however Andy made it painless! I didn’t know he was taking photos most of the time. There was nothing staged or awkward which we LOVED!
He was great in the morning whilst we were getting our hair and makeup done, he was extremely relaxed and friendly and helped settle my nerves. He offered some guidance as to when to get dressed ect and just helped the morning run smoothly. He joined in the fun and had a good laugh with my mum who loved him!
I’m sure anyone planning a wedding knows how expensive it can be, Andy is fantastic in that he doesnt want you to miss out on any of the fun you have organised. We spent such a small amount of the day having group photos taken so were free to enjoy the day with our guests.
We have only had a sneak peak of some of the photos and can’t wait to see the rest!
Andy was amazing! If he is available on your wedding date then I wouldn’t hesitate to book, we can’t recommend him enough.
Thanks so much Andy,

Useful information about Grange Barn
Grange Barn is an approved premise for civil ceremonies. Couples can get married in our beautiful indoor ceremony area or (weather permitting!) can have an outdoor ceremony on the decking overlooking the spectacular views. If you would like a church service, we are a stones throw away from the beautiful Saint Michael’s Church of Marbury. There are also a handful of lovely churches all within a 5-10 minute drive from Grange Barn.
Tell us about Grange Barn? The history of the farm, the barn etc
The farm house was built in 1858, and the farm was originally a dairy farm with the barn being used for cattle. Renovations began on the barn in January 2019, and we have maintained plenty of it’s original features. We have not altered the building structurally, maintaining (and obviously repairing!) the roof and the metal stanchions. We have re-purposed the huge barn doors doors, so as to keep the authenticity of the barn.
How long have you been in business for?
The Barn officially opened in June 2019, and had our first wedding July 2019.
What made you want to become a venue?
Both my husband and I are from Cheshire and when we were looking to get married in the area three years ago, we couldn’t find anywhere we liked. All the venues we looked around were either formal hotels, or had plenty of restrictions so we decided in the end to get married in our parents field. When my parents-in-law purchased Grange Farm, they were discussing knocking down the old cattle barn so my husband and I approached them with the idea of turning it into a wedding barn. They loved the idea, and since then the concept of Grange Barn was born! We hope the barn brings a different type of venue to the Cheshire area – we really want it to be a relaxed, fun and rustic space which couples can really make their own.
What do you most enjoy about the wedding industry?
Meeting so many wonderful couples! I also love the Friday before a wedding at the barn … it’s always such fun with plenty of people popping in and out, and everyone running around organising the set-up. We have chosen to only host 1 wedding a week on the farm as we didn’t want it to feel like a wedding factory. Because of this, our couples have access to the barn from midday on Friday so they can have all afternoon to get the barn looking just how they would like!
What is your top tip for bride / grooms?
Enjoy it! We understand at times it can be stressful, but it is such a special time in your lives. We like to think the couples getting married at Grange Barn have plenty of support in the lead up and on the day itself, so they really can enjoy the whole experience.
