I am delighted to share this Ashfield House Wedding Photography blog. Ashfield House is an exclusive wedding venue in Standish, Wigan and I am delighted to be an Ashfield House wedding photographer and have photographed at this fantastic wedding venue on several occasions.

This stunning country house that was built in 1755, it was granted permission to become a luxury hotel and restaurant in 1993. Over the years it was likely to be made into apartments but thankfully the recession stopped that. That is when Katie the daughter of Mel who now runs Ashfield House had a vision of creating a stunning country house wedding venue. It is safe to say this has been achieved and more. Since they started weddings it has become one of the best wedding venues in the North West and U.K picking up multiple awards along the way.

Zoe & Ben’s Wedding at Ashfield House

Zoe and Ben got married in March 2023 and it was one of my favourite weddings of the year. The bride and groom were surrounded by their friends and family for the day and it was full of energy and laughter all day. I spent most of the morning with Zoe and her bridesmaids before the ceremony. The morning went so fast and it was soon time for the ceremony. The girls made their way down the fantastic Ashfield House stair case before making their way into the ceremony room.

Ashfield House Wedding Photos

Ashfield House  is a great space for your wedding and perfect for wedding photos. After the formalities were complete, everyone had a great time and the guests enjoyed a few drinks with the newlyweds, we did a small selection of group photos and some couples portraits. We were lucky enough to have some gorgeous sun light for couples portraits. I love couples portraits at Ashfield House , it is the perfect backdrop. After a short time we headed back to start the speeches and wedding breakfast.

We we were fortunate enough to have fantastic speeches and a great party. Everyone had a great time and I am sure there would have been some sore heads the next day. After speeches it was time for the cutting of the cake, a lovely father daughter dance, followed by the first dance, before DFC provided sax and drums which were enjoyed by everyone.

From the minute we met during hair and makeup he immediately felt like a friend. I could just continue my day leaving Andy in the background to snap away taking all the pictures we wanted to see of all our guests! A few days after our wedding we were sent the album, I wasn’t expecting it so fast! The pictures were perfect – felt like I was reliving the day again. The pictures made me emotional, the speech reactions the dad/ daughter reactions all our families and friends and action shots of our kids. Just perfect (the hardest part was picking our favourite for the album!)
