Foxtail Barns Wedding

If you’re searching for a wedding venue that blends modern style with countryside charm, Foxtail Barns wedding venue in Staffordshire should be firmly on your shortlist. Ellie and Dan picked this unique venue for their big day, and it served up everything you could ask for: glorious weather, big laughs, and a celebration that felt completely personal from start to finish.

With an outdoor drinks reception, personal vows that were both touching and hilarious, a magician who wowed the guests, a champagne tower, sparklers, and even an inflatable plane this was a Foxtail Barns wedding full of character, great people, and a great time had by all.

Wedding Prep at Foxtail Barns

Dan and his groomsmen got ready in one of the on-site lodges – a perfect private spot for getting ready with your closest mates.

Ellie and her bridal party made full use of the bridal prep room – with hair and makeup underway, fizz flowing, and everyone buzzing with excitement, it set the tone for the day perfectly. Ellie had some emotional reveals with her dad and bridesmaids as well as her new in laws!

The Ceremony – Big Windows and Bigger Laughs

For this incredible Foxtail Barns Wedding, the ceremony took place in the beautiful Orangery – Foxtail Barns’ dedicated ceremony space. With its floor-to-ceiling windows and stylish modern interiors, it’s ideal for couples who want their wedding to feel elegant with loads of natural light.

One of the standout moments was Ellie and Dan’s personal vows. They were heartfelt, genuine, and packed with humour – showing off their personalities and getting plenty of laughs from their guests. It’s always a treat to photograph couples who aren’t afraid to do things their way.

The room itself looked incredible thanks to Kelly from Kelly Louise Floral Artistry, who handled all the flowers and décor. Her floral designs tied the whole aesthetic together beautifully – stylish, fresh, and full of personality.

With the ceremony wrapped up, it was time for confetti and then the party stayed outside in the beautifully kept courtyard for the drinks reception. The sun was shining, and the atmosphere was buzzing – helped by the magician working the crowd.

He was brilliant and it made for some cracking photo moments too. Magic during the drinks reception is always a win but I do hate seeing them as I can never work out how they do it all!

Once everyone had a few drinks, enjoyed the majority of the drinks reception, it was time for a few group shots. Quick, relaxed, and painless – followed by a short portrait session with just the two of them at the end of the drinks reception whilst the guests took their seat. The light was lovely, the grounds were awesome as always. We wandered around the gardens and surrounding woodland for some relaxed, natural portraits before heading back in for speeches and the wedding breakfast.

Now, speeches at weddings are always a mixed bag. Some make you laugh, some make you cry. But when the best man – who also happens to be the groom’s brother – kicks things off by entering the room in an inflatable plane you know you’re in for a good time.

Both Ellie and Dan are pilots and met at flying school, so the aviation theme was spot on. The inflatable plane had everyone in stitches and set the tone for the rest of the speeches – funny, personal, and completely unique to them. From heartfelt stories to inside jokes, the speeches managed to strike that rare balance of being entertaining for everyone while still feeling intimate. Once the speeches were done it was time for the wedding breakfast and for me to start on their sneak peek images!

Before the evening party kicked off, Ellie and Dan treated their wedding party to a champagne tower and we also headed out for some evening portraits in golden hour!

Just as the sun dipped, it was time for sparklers for the bridal party and then we headed in side for the party!

As the sun went down, the party turned up. Foxtail Barns is built for a good time, with a reception space that flows perfectly from the dining area to the dancefloor. Once the music started, the dancefloor filled fast, Ellie and Dan’s guests came to celebrate properly, and the evening was fantastic. the evening reception was packed with energy and fun and I am delighted to have been a part of their wedding.

A Foxtail Barns Wedding offers the best of both worlds – a high-end, thoughtfully designed venue with the relaxed feel of a countryside location. Whether you’re after an indoor ceremony with loads of natural light, a drinks reception in the sunshine, or a dancefloor that is awesome – Foxtail Barns Delivers.

The on-site accommodation, dedicated prep spaces, and beautiful surroundings make planning your day so much easier. It’s a venue that just works – and looks incredible in photos. I also have to say from my point of view – the staff at Foxtail Barns are incredible. Everytime I work at this wonderful venue they are super friendly, helpful and make everything run brilliantly.
