What the bride said about Andy Griffiths Wedding Photography at Bashall Barn

“Choosing the right wedding photographer was a really difficult decision. We knew we wanted some traditional photos throughout the day but didn’t want to be taken off for ages and miss the party!! Andy was 100% the right choice- in fact, I’d say that he made the wedding day for us. Before the day, he met with us twice and discussed in loads of detail the approach he would take on the day. He was completely flexible with us and was happy to accommodate all of our requests. The photos from Andy are just perfect. I can’t recommend Andy highly enough- from start to finish he was the ultimate professional and the photos of our day are better than we could have ever dreamed of. Along the way, he was funny, relaxed and fit right in with the wedding party! A massive thank you.”

Bridal Preparation before the vows

The day started for me at Lisa’s parents home in Clitheroe, there was some real raw emotion before the wedding service and I was so pleased the bride was comfortable to allow me to capture some beautiful moments, whilst my second shooter Martin (Thanks Martin) joined Danny for groom prep. Lisa and Danny got married at St Peters Church in the Salesbury before heading to Bashall Barn for the reception and wedding breakfast.

Wedding Photography Dancing, drinking and a great wedding party at Bashall Barn

What a venue Bashall Barn is – the balcony and outside area is the perfect place for wedding guests to enjoy the wedding day, along side this the barn is just beautiful for the wedding breakfast. After the speeches the new Mr and Mrs spent the evening in the sun enjoying drinks and partying the night away with the fantastic Matthew Stephens who was entertaining everyone with his acoustic guitar and singing before getting everyone up on the dance floor. Having literally everyone sing Oasis in any wedding is pretty cool!

Bashall Barn Useful Information:

Whats the history behind Bashall Barn?

Bashall Barn actually opened in 2001 as a little local farm shop on a dairy farm. A family owned and run business, it has evolved over the years from a shop, which still exists in form today, to a tea room, then a restaurant and then eventually a wedding venue! It’s actually in the past few years, since we opened the Brook room in 2017, that people have started to take us seriously as a wedding venue. We are still very much a family business, our owner Simon and his daughter both work here, I don’t think they’ll ever leave!

What would you say makes Bashall Barn unique?

I’d have to say the views! I don’t know many places with a view like ours. It’s the perfect backdrop for your ceremony, drinks reception and those all important photos. (Rebecca, wedding coordinator, Bashall Barn)

Whats your biggest tips for couples getting married?

Be flexible with dates! Gone are the days where you could only get married on weekends, we find some of our best weddings are Fridays or even mid week, you might even save yourself a penny or two! (Rebecca, wedding coordinator, Bashall Barn)

Whats your most popular wedding package?

Now we do things a little differently here at Bashall, we don’t charge venue hire, or for things like your table cloths and glassware, you’ve got to have something to eat your food off right? This is actually the first year where we’ve launched packages but they do seem to be going down a treat. I’d probably say our winter wedding package has been the most popular so far, there’s a gin bar included so that’s probably why! (Rebecca, wedding coordinator, Bashall Barn)

How do you get to Bashall Barn?

With free car and coach parking, the easiest way to find us is from the A59 to Clitheroe. From Clitheroe take the Longridge signs heading out of Clitheroe past the Edisford Bridge Pub and turn right immediately after the pub. Bashall Barn is 1 mile from the pub on the right. There are lots of brown signs that will help you on your drive.

"What a photographer!"

Andy was the ultimate supplier. From the second we enquired with Andy, he was very responsive and straight away put us at ease. Talking to Andy, i felt as though i had known him for years. On the day he was amazing with all our guests and our wedding photos speak for themselves. He was super discreet and just snapped pictures of the whole day without us noticing. I could not recommend Andy enough.
