Jodie & Luke’s Wedding at Colshaw Hall

The bride and groom got married in August 2022 and it was one of my favourite weddings of the year. From the moment I arrived at Colshaw Hall I was made to feel welcome by all of the bridal party. They all just wanted to have the best wedding day for Jodie and Luke and that is certainly what they got. With an incredible band, beautiful weather, incredible food by Barretts and of course one of the best wedding venues around – that was always going to be the case.

Colshaw Hall Wedding Photography

I spent the morning between the groomsmen and the bridesmaids and bride and it was a lot of fun, it was also great working with Jodie A Smith on hair and make up again. Time went so quickly as it always does on a wedding morning and it was soon time for Jodie to get in to her wedding dress from Emily Bridal in Sheffield. Jodie wanted to do a reveal to her bridesmaids and it was a lovely moment.

Jodie’s dad came to see her which was a lovely moment and then it was time to head over to the ceremony room where the groom was waiting. After a short service by Your Ceremony – Cheshire East’s registrars it was time for the party. All the guests enjoyed the drinks reception in the walled gardens at Colshaw Hall and then we did some short group photos and couples portraits in the grounds of this wonderful venue that is Colshaw Hall.

Colshaw Hall – The Perfect Place For Your Wedding

As the guests made their way into the wedding breakfast they were lucky enough to have The Function Band play for them, these were one of the best wedding bands I have seen – they had everyone up and dancing and it was fantastic. The speeches were exactly what you want at a Colshaw Hall wedding – funny, heart felt and overall brilliant. Food was served by Barretts and then it was time for more excellent performances by the Function Band to get everyone in the mood for the evening party.

A quick turn around and it was time for the first dance and then dance floor went off! It was incredible and I love wedding’s like this and I have to say the Function Band are awesome! It is safe to say everyone had a great time at the two incredible bride and groom’s wedding.

I had a fantastic time photographing this Colshaw Hall wedding and I am delighted to share this blog.

What the couple said about Andy Griffiths Photography at Colshaw Hall:

Where do we start?! Andy was amazing from start to finish! From the moment we booked him he was amazing with communication, helpful tips and talking to us about exactly what we wanted and how the day would work. It was so helpful and made us really relaxed for the day! When he arrived on the day he just fitted in with everyone and he captured so many lovely moments that we had either forgot or didn’t even know had happened! He made us feel really calm and relaxed throughout the whole day and we got SO many couple photos even though he didn’t take us away from our guests for long at all! We wanted nice natural photos and we got that and so much more! We just want to say a massive thank you to Andy for allowing us to be able to relive our special day forever because of the photos he took!
We couldn’t recommend Andy enough, we will treasure the photos forever and we can’t thank him enough!
Jodie and Luke!

Colshaw Hall Useful Information

What is the history of Colshaw Hall ?

Colshaw Hall is a Grade II-listed building that was built in 1903 for textile magnates, the Peel family. It is a Tudor-style manor house that was designed by renowned Cheshire architect John Douglas who was also responsible for building projects for Prime Minister William Gladstone and soap giant William Lever.

The building has been an important part of the local community for many years and at one time was used as an auxiliary hospital during World War One. Severely damaged by fire in the twentieth century it was bought by the Irlam family in 2001 who restored the hall and its grounds to its former beauty and Colshaw Hall became a family home again. David Irlam and his wife decided that it was simply too big to be a family home so opened up their home as what you see today – one of the finest wedding venues in the country. Still owned by the Irlam family this is a family run business that know how to deliver the finest of service and weddings.

Colshaw Hall and sister venue Merrydale Manor are located in Over Peover; a lovely village just outside Knutsford and within easy reach of Chester, Manchester and Macclesfield.
