Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn
Wedding Photography
I am delighted to share with you this Browsholme Hall wedding photography blog. Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn is situated in Clitheroe and is one of the best venues in the area. Situated in the Forest of Bowland this venue is one of Lancashires oldest family homes. The barns were fantastically restored and transformed in 2010, soon becoming one of the top wedding venues in the area.
Rachel & Simon’s wedding at Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn, Clitheroe
Rachel & Simon got married at the incredible Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn in Clitheroe. A fantastic wedding venue with beautiful surroundings in the heart of the wonderful Forest of Bowland.
It was a bit of a wet morning at Browsholme but that didn’t matter as Rachel, her bridesmaids, mum and dog were getting ready in the stunning Mews cottage a stones throw away from where the wedding ceremony takes place. I was also able to head over to meet Simon and the groomsmen who were busy getting ready in the prep room – they were also busy entertaining the dogs as well. I do enjoy photographing both groom and bridal prep – it tells the story of the day so much better.
A lovely wedding ceremony at Browsholme Hall and Tithe Barn
Browsholme Hall and Tithe Barn really is a stunning venue for a wedding and the room in which you tie the knot in then gets transformed into your wedding breakfast/ party area. The ceremony was lovely with the bride and grooms closest friends and family witnessing their wedding. You can tell just how well Simon and Rachel get on together and I am so pleased to have played a part in their wedding.
Browsholme Hall Wedding Photography
My approach to drinks receptions are the same at every wedding – let the newly weds enjoy their wedding reception with their wedding guests and photograph the formal groups and portraits towards the end of the drinks reception which allows the couples to actually enjoy their wedding with all of their wedding guests, today was no different. I had a short window to capture the group photos because of the rain, but we were not put off.
The bride and groom also said how much they wanted to have photos in the grounds near the Hall and up at the lake – this was brilliant news for me as it is such a stunning venue to photograph. We headed off for about twenty minutes giving the couple a chance to spend some time together and also get out on the lake in the little boat!
My approach to wedding photography is something I really believe in and know the difference it makes to couples and their friends and family. After the photos it was time for the speeches and wedding breakfast, as I have mentioned before this is one of my favourite parts of the wedding to photograph – today was brilliant and the speeches all brilliantly delivered with humour, emotion and meaning.
With some garden games to finish off the day before the evening party started everyone had a great day – it was on to DJ Ryan Smith to entertain us for the evening and certainly didn’t let us down. Another packed dance floor and lovely first dance before the wood-fire pizza came out for the evening and it was time for me to say my goodbyes and let the party continue late into the night at the wonderful Browsholme Tithe Barn in the heart of the Ribble Valley.
What the bride & groom said about Andy Griffiths Photography at Browsholme Tithe Barn
We’re so lucky that Andy was our photographer. I fell in love with his work instantly, capturing the real emotion of the day is what it’s all about.
We’re obsessed with all 400 of our photos and still can’t stop looking at them 4 months after the wedding.
Not only is Andy’s work amazing, but so is the man himself. It was like we’d known him years and he fit into the family within minutes, made everyone feel so relaxed and kept the day running smoothly.

The Hall
The Hall, dating back to the original house built after 1507, was once sixty-eight feet long and is arguably the finest surviving antiquarian interior in England. The many and varied antiquities on view include a buff coat as worn by Captain Thomas Whittingham, killed at the Battle of Newbury fighting for the king; the dog stirrup reputedly used as a gauge to control dogs in the Forest of Bowland and safeguard the deer, a skull believed to be a Martyr from the Pilgrimage of Grace, a peg tankard said to have been in use since about the reign of Edward III, medieval stained glass and a fragment of a Zeppelin shot down in 1916 and given to the family as a souvenir.
