Ashfield House is an exclusive wedding venue in Standish, Wigan and I am delighted to be an Ashfield House wedding photographer! This stunning country house that was built in 1755, it was granted permission to become a luxury hotel and restaurant in 1993. Over the years it was likely to be made into apartments but thankfully the recession stopped that. That is when Katie the daughter of Mel who now runs Ashfield House had a vision of creating a stunning country house wedding venue. It is safe to say this has been achieved and more. Since they started weddings it has become one of the best wedding venues in the North West and U.K picking up multiple awards along the way.

Adam & Claire’s church wedding
Before spending the day at Ashfield House Adam & Claire got married at Claire’s childhood church in Wigan. In the morning I started the day with Adam & his groomsmen before heading to the bride and bridesmaids who were getting ready at home. I always enjoy spending time at both groom and bridal preparation it tells the whole story of the day. I was working alongside James Tracey Wedding Films which is always great. We work in such a similar style and have a combined package.
Claire was walked down the aisle by both her dad after travelling to church with both her dad and step dad which was a really nice moment. Adam was waiting at the bottom of the aisle and got a little emotional as she came in. One very funny moment of the ceremony was when the best man was soaked by the priest whilst he was blessing the rings. After the church service everybody travelled the short distance by double decker bus to the wedding reception for drinks and canapés. I love photographing at this incredible venue in Standish and I am lucky enough to be working here several times in the next year.
Couples portraits at Ashfield House
Ashfield House is a fantastic wedding venue and is the perfect space for couples portraits. With so many different places to photograph it really is a wedding photographers dream. We spent a little bit of time outside today for couples portraits, the weather wasn’t as nice as what we would have liked but it really doesn’t matter at a place like this.
Evening reception at Ashfield House
With more evening guests arriving for the evening reception the party was fantastic. The lovely bride & groom cut the cake and then straight into first dance before the guests joined them on the dance floor. An awesome party and everyone seemed to of had a great day! I was so pleased to have been part of their day.
