I am so happy to share this beautiful wedding from Mottram Hall. I have photographed weddings several times at Mottram Hall and I am lucky enough to be asked to attend their wedding open days. One of the best hotels in Cheshire, Mottram Hall is exclusively set in idyllic countryside and lush forestry that makes Mottram Hall the perfect backdrop for creative and beautiful images from any wedding.

Mottram Hall – wedding venue 

Ali and Tom both got ready at Mottram Hall, Ali had one of the big suites which was perfect for bridal preparation. Along with several bridesmaids, parents and their little boy Harry it was a fun filled morning with plenty of pre wedding nerves, breakfast and champagne. Ali and the bridesmaids hair was perfected by Katy Corcoran and everyone looked great with help from Sadie Day, MUA.  Tom and Ali were lucky enough to have Mottram Hall transformed by the incredibly talented venue dresser – Alison who ensured the wedding room looked amazing and was again transformed for the wedding breakfast, it really is great working with such passionate and caring wedding suppliers.

After Tom and Ali tied the knot they had their reception drinks in the Garden room, a perfect space for guests to enjoy their canapés, reception drinks and to enjoy the special wedding day. After a while of the lovely newlyweds enjoying their reception drinks we headed out for fifteen minutes for some couple photos, an ideal time to have some time on their own on what is one of the best days of their life – but one that always goes so quickly. It’s why I work in the way I do – ensuring that you are not away from your family and friends for hours, just a short period of time is plenty to create some beautiful images.

Best Man Speech – This is your life

During the speeches at Mottram Hall, Tom and Ali were treated to a ‘this is your life’ presentation by the two best men, a very funny speech that went down well. It was clear to see how much Tom and Ali meant to their friends and family. A lovely couple who are clearly incredibly happy. We soon were into the first dance and evening reception. I love getting on the dance floor with the guests, everyone has let their hair down a bit and just want to party into the night – it’s bloody ace.

We also popped out quickly to use the magnificent Mottram Hall as a backdrop for some off camera flash – I always try and do something like this – but it isn’t always possible.

My style of photography is relaxed, natural and unobtrusive, capturing the day as it happens. What that means is almost completely unposed wedding photography throughout the whole day.
