Chloe & Callum’s Rainy but Brilliant West Tower Wedding
Chloe and Callum’s West Tower wedding in September 2025 had all the ingredients for a perfect day – laughter, emotion, incredible styling, and fireworks to finish. The only thing missing was sunshine, but the non-stop rain didn’t spoil a thing. Instead, the couple embraced it, umbrellas in hand, and we created some awesome photographs that prove you don’t need blue skies for a wedding to look and feel amazing.
A bit of West Tower history
Before diving into Chloe and Callum’s day, it’s worth talking about why so many couples choose a West Tower wedding. Built in 1885 as a family home, West Tower has become one of the North West’s most sought-after exclusive-use venues. Set in the Lancashire countryside, it offers sweeping views across the fields, a grand yet welcoming house, and a blend of historic character with modern touches. Couples get the entire venue to themselves, which means privacy, space and a relaxed atmosphere all day long. Whether the weather is glorious or, as in this case, persistently wet, a West Tower wedding always delivers.
Morning prep in the Crystal Suite
The day began with Chloe and her bridesmaids in the Crystal Suite. There was music, excitement, plenty of laughter and the kind of energy that always makes bridal prep fun to photograph. At the same time, the groomsmen were getting ready, complete with the usual mix of nerves and banter.
Chloe later moved over to the Bridal Suite for an emotional reveal. First with her bridesmaids, then with her dad and her brother – each reaction more heartfelt than the last. These moments are why I shoot in a documentary style. Nothing is staged, nothing is forced, and yet the photographs tell the whole story.
A stunning ceremony at West Tower
The ceremony itself took place in one of West Tower’s beautiful rooms, dressed to perfection by I Do Events. They’re absolute pros when it comes to transforming a space, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any couple looking to make their venue look incredible. With elegant décor, flowers and details in all the right places, the room looked breathtaking as Chloe walked down the aisle.
The atmosphere was awesome – guests smiling, some wiping away a tear, and Callum trying to hold it together as he saw his bride. The rain outside didn’t matter one bit, because inside it was full of warmth, joy and everything a wedding ceremony should be.
Speeches, laughter and dancefloor moments
After the ceremony, it was time for food, drinks and speeches. And what speeches they were – the perfect balance of heartfelt, funny and embarrassing. The best man’s particularly had everyone laughing!
Once the formalities were done, Chloe and Callum and their guests heading back downstairs where more drinks were had and they also had a casino and singers for everyone which was fantastic. It was soon time to head back upstairs ready for the party!.The evening party kicked off properly with plenty of dancing, laughter and the kind of candid moments that make for brilliant wedding photos.
Fireworks to end the night
As if the day hadn’t been memorable enough, guests were then treated to an incredible firework display. Everyone gathered outside, umbrellas up, watching the sky light up over West Tower. Photographing fireworks at weddings is always special, but when the couple are as relaxed and fun as Chloe and Callum, it makes the shots even better. It was the perfect way to round off a West Tower wedding that nobody will forget in a hurry.
Embracing the rain – West Tower wedding photography
One of the things I loved most about Chloe and Callum’s day was how they embraced the weather. It literally didn’t stop raining, but instead of hiding away, they grabbed an umbrella and got outside for photographs. Rainy wedding photos often end up being some of the most creative and dramatic images of the day, and West Tower provides the perfect backdrop for them.
As a documentary wedding photographer, my approach is 99% unposed. That means no awkward standing around for hours of photos. Just real moments, real emotions and the little details that tell the true story of the day. Even when the weather throws everything at us, we make it work – and Chloe and Callum’s photos prove just that.

West Tower wedding photography – my approach
Every West Tower wedding I photograph is completely different. Some couples get sunshine, others get rain. Some go for formal styling, others keep it stripped back and relaxed. My role is to document it as it really happens, so when you look back at your photos, you remember the day exactly as it was.
At Chloe and Callum’s wedding, the weather could have been a problem, but it wasn’t. By staying relaxed, keeping things fun and trusting me to capture the story, they ended up with photographs that show the reality of their day – full of joy, laughter and a few umbrellas.
