Sabrina and Ryan’s Colshaw Hall Wedding
A Colshaw Hall wedding in May with sunshine all day and a couple who were up for anything. You really can’t ask for more. Sabrina and Ryan’s wedding had the perfect mix of relaxed moments, good food, lots of laughs and a sunset that made the evening portraits a dream to photograph.
As a recommended photographer at Colshaw Hall, I’ve worked here many times, and it continues to be one of my favourite venues. The team runs the day like clockwork, the spaces are brilliant to shoot in, and couples get the chance to enjoy their day without worrying about a thing. For Sabrina and Ryan, the day flowed from start to finish with all the right moments in all the right places.

About Colshaw Hall
Colshaw Hall is an exclusive use wedding venue just outside Knutsford in Cheshire. It’s a family-owned estate with some of the best wedding facilities in the area. The grounds are stunning and the venue includes a dedicated ceremony room, a huge reception space and multiple on-site accommodation options.
The ceremony room has a lovely modern feel and great natural light. The wedding breakfast and party are held in the Peel Suite, a large but warm space with exposed beams and big windows. There’s also the Den for the groom and groomsmen to get ready and a luxury bridal suite for the morning prep. It’s this kind of thoughtful layout that makes a Colshaw Hall wedding such a great choice.
Morning Prep
Sabrina got ready in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids. The morning had a really calm feel. No rushing around, just music on in the background and everyone in great spirits. The bridal suite is perfect for prep. Loads of space, nice lighting and a few quiet moments before everything kicks off.
Ryan got ready in the Den, which is Colshaw’s space for the groom and groomsmen. It’s a proper area, not just an afterthought, and gives the lads a chance to get sorted without being crammed into a small hotel room. Buttonholes, suits and a toast to the day ahead all sorted before the ceremony.
The Ceremony
The couple tied the knot in the ceremony room. This part of Colshaw always works well. It’s bright, stylish and big enough to feel impressive without being too formal. Guests were seated, phones away, and the couple walked into a sea of smiling faces. It was relaxed and full of personality, just like Sabrina and Ryan.
After the ceremony, guests headed out into the sunshine. The drinks reception was in full swing within minutes, with everyone making the most of the weather and the gardens.
Couples Photos Before the Wedding Breakfast
Before the wedding breakfast began, we headed off for some couple portraits around the grounds. One of the best things about Colshaw Hall is you don’t need to go far to find brilliant backdrops. We kept things natural, took a walk around the lake and used the light that was already perfect. Sabrina and Ryan were brilliant in front of the camera. Nothing too posed, just them enjoying a few minutes away from the crowd.
The Wedding Breakfast and Speeches
The Peel Suite was set up for the wedding breakfast, and it looked spot on. Guests were seated, food was served and the speeches had the right mix of humour and emotion. Everyone got involved, from parents to the best man, and the room was full of laughter throughout. The team at Colshaw kept everything running smoothly, and the food was excellent as always.
Evening Party with Andy Murphy
When it was time for the party, Andy Murphy took over and absolutely delivered. I’ve worked alongside Andy loads of times, and he’s one of the best in the business. He knows how to read a crowd and keep the energy going from the first dance right through to the last song. The dancefloor was packed all night, and the atmosphere was exactly what you want from a proper wedding party.
Why Colshaw Hall is Always a Win
There’s a reason Colshaw Hall weddings are some of the most popular I shoot. It just works. Every element of the day is covered, from the ceremony right through to the party, and couples always say how relaxed they feel. The team behind the scenes is experienced and professional, which means suppliers can focus on what they do best while couples enjoy the day without stress.
Sabrina and Ryan’s wedding showed off everything that makes this venue a great choice. The weather helped, of course, but even without the sun, Colshaw Hall delivers on every level.
What the Bride & Groom said about Andy Griffiths Photography
If I could rate 1000 stars I would! Could not recommend Andy enough! He was absolutely amazing from start to finish. It was so nice to be able to enjoy our wedding without worrying about being taken away from our guests for chunks of time! The photos are just what we wanted, and we could not be happier with them. Andy made us feel so comfortable and was a good laugh, he felt more like a friend. If we could get married all over again, we would definitely pick Andy! Thanks again, you made our day so special and we cannot thank you enough 🙂 Sabrina and Ryan xx
