Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photos
I love creating Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photos. Sandhole Oak Barn is one of Cheshire’s most well-loved countryside wedding venues. Set just outside Congleton, the barn sits on a family-run farm and has been purpose-built for weddings. With a large oak-framed ceremony and reception space, a lakeside setting, on-site accommodation, and a seamless layout, it’s a venue that makes wedding planning straightforward and the day itself feel relaxed from start to finish.
Lyndsey and Jordan chose Sandhole Oak Barn for their Good Friday wedding, and it turned out to be a brilliant day from start to finish.

Morning Preparations
Jordan got ready in the Small Barn with his groomsmen. Tucked away from the main barn but still close to everything, it’s a great space to get ready in peace while still being right in the heart of things. A bit of music, a few final tie checks, and before long it was time to welcome the guests.
Lyndsey spent the morning in the bridal suite, a calm and comfortable space with loads of natural light. Her dress from Love Story Bridal was a great choice and suited the day perfectly. Everyone was relaxed and in good spirits – a great way to start a wedding day.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place inside the Oak Barn. With its tall windows, oak beams and views over the lake, it’s a ceremony space that feels bright and full of character without needing any fuss. Guests arrived, took their seats, and Jordan waited at the front as Lyndsey made her entrance with a beaming smile.
The ceremony itself was full of happy moments and a great atmosphere from start to finish. It was clear how much the couple’s family and friends were enjoying it all.
Drinks reception, alpacas and confetti
As soon as the ceremony finished, guests went straight into drinks reception – I always want couples to be present in their wedding and not miss the drinks!
One of the big highlights was the arrival of two alpacas, brought along by Cheshire Alpacas. The timing was perfect – straight into the drinks reception, and the guests absolutely loved it. Loads of photos, plenty of laughter and a real talking point throughout the afternoon.
Crazy golf had also been set up nearby, ready to go. But with the ground still a little damp from earlier in the day, most people chose to leave it until later. The drinks reception flowed nicely, with guests catching up, meeting alpacas, and enjoying the relaxed surroundings.
Couples portraits and group photos
We made the most of the outdoor space for some quick group photos, keeping it simple so everyone could get back to enjoying the afternoon. Then Lyndsey and Jordan took a short walk around the grounds for some couples portraits. As always at Sandhole Oak Barn, the setting did most of the work. No over-staging, just a bit of time together in between the main events of the day.
Wedding breakfast with Top Table
Inside the barn, Top Table had everything running smoothly for the wedding breakfast. They’re one of the trusted catering teams at Sandhole and consistently do a great job. The space looked brilliant, and guests took their seats ready for speeches before the food.
The speeches were spot on – a great mix of humour, memories and a few cheeky moments. Once the talking was done, the food was served and the atmosphere was relaxed and upbeat.
Evening reception
As the evening guests arrived and the barn was turned around, the party really got going. Lyndsey and Jordan had booked Fun Time Frankies to provide the evening entertainment, and they did exactly what they’re known for – keeping the dance floor packed and the atmosphere buzzing.
Before things got too wild, we stepped out again for some evening portraits. The light at Sandhole Oak Barn around sunset is always worth taking advantage of, especially down by the water. Lyndsey and Jordan were up for it and it was a great way to wrap up the daytime part of their wedding.
Why Sandhole Oak Barn works so well
Sandhole Oak Barn offers couples exactly what they need – everything in one place, flexible outdoor space, a scenic backdrop, and a brilliant team behind the scenes. It suits couples who want a relaxed day without giving up on great food, good flow and that bit of countryside charm.
Lyndsey and Jordan’s Good Friday wedding showed exactly how the venue can be used to its full potential. Alpacas during the drinks reception, a delayed but very competitive round of crazy golf, and a proper evening party to round it all off. A genuinely fun day with a laid-back vibe from beginning to end.
