A Quirky Vintage Winter Wedding at Tower Hill Barns
I am so happy to share this quirky vintage wedding from Trevor Hill Barns, near Llangollen – North Wales. Tower Hill Barns is a unique barn that is set in beautiful grounds – that is perfect for any wedding. Lucy and David who live in Canada are two of the coolest, friendly and chilled people I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. Tower Hill Barns was renovated and transformed in 2015, the original sandstone cattle barn (now the intimate ceremony room) has benefited from the addition of a modern, yet rustic oak framed dining hall which is flooded with natural light, and has views of the gardens and the rolling Welsh hills beyond.
Bridal Preparations at Trevor Hall
The day started at Trevor Hall where Lucy, David and their friends and family had based themselves for a few days before. The morning started in a really relaxed manner and David and Lucy wanted to head out for some photos before the wedding as they were getting married at 4pm and wanted to use the stunning scenery that Trevor Hall finds itself situated in. Lucy had planned the day with military precision and was the most organised bride ever. It was soon time for the wedding at Trevor church, hundreds of years old this church is just a small walk away from Trevor Hall. The couple were super cool and stylish with the bride wearing a champagne/gold beaded gown with cowl back neckline by Justin Alexander. The groom wore a purple velvet Etro jacket, Canali tuxedo trousers and custom made waistcoat by Esther Skandunas of Once Upon A Bustle – a theatrical costume designer.
The church service was small and intimate and after the lovely couple said their vows we went outside for confetti throwing and congratulations from the guests. A candle lit trumpet procession in the dark was so much fun and led the newly married couple away to their evening reception.
Reception at Tower Hill Barns
The evening reception was at the stunning Tower Hill Barns which provided a great venue for canapés, the speeches, the first dance and more. It was pitch black by the time we arrived but the old barn so impressive and the service was also great that you couldn’t happen to appreciate what a top class venue this is. Dani Sicari and The Easy Rollers as well as Vintage DJ, Dr Sid supplied the entertainment for the night, Dani Sicari and the Easy Rollers were awesome and the voice of Dani is just incredible. Lucy and David looked like they had a fantastic wedding and enjoyed every minute, you can tell how much of a close couple these two are I was delighted to tell their wedding story, congratulations again guys.
