Top Wedding Tips For Great Photos

Book Me

For those that have booked – I can’t wait to be part of your day. For the others – It could have been great – I will never forget you.

The Morning

Try and keep the room you are getting ready in clean and clutter free
Wine/ Prosecco helps
Tell everyone they don’t need to look at the camera!
Tell the bridal party in key moments not to use phones.
Window light – when having your make up done be facing the window
Enjoy it – the day will fly.

The Dress

Don’t worry about the dress – on the day you will have all sorts going on, my biggest advice is to not worry about your dress getting dirty on the day.

You wear it once and it is important to get great photos – whatever the weather!

The Ceremony

During the service – hold hands, smile – you’re about to get married! You may also want to think about if you want guests taking photos during the service – sometimes they can get in the way – of which I have no control over.

Confetti

Everyone loves a confetti shot! Get more than you think you need and I would just leave it in basket for people to take handfuls

Drinks Reception

One of the best parts of the day. Be outside if you can – I won’t be taking you away for ages missing this part of the day. I want you to enjoy it – but photos are always better outside!

Couples Portraits

10 minutes – no skipping down the path and no piggy backs. Just you both being yourselves. But some tips to make it easier.

Don’t look at the floor & hold hands

Don’t talk about anything serious & have fun

Speeches

Always do the speeches before or after the meal – don’t do them after each course – it doesn’t work.

Also remember – no resting bitch face. lol.

Cake Cut

Just cut the cake – we don’t need a big posed photo of this – just enjoy it. I would always recommend doing your cake cut and first dance no later than 7.30/8pm because you want the party to start. Having a long period in-between the food finishing and the night do starting can make or break the atmosphere!

First Dance

Enjoy it – I will let you know on the day where to start unless you have something planned. But get your friends and family to join you half way through. Make sure you get the DJ to play some of your favourite dance tunes straight after – incase they decide to talk for an hour and or play Agadoo. You want people staying on the dance floor!

If you need recommendations on great DJ’s or bands then give me a shout!

The Party

Have a great DJ or Band that starts straight after first dance.

If you leave the dance floor – so will your guests!

If you drink – get pissed & enjoy.

  • Andy was one of the first suppliers I booked 2 years prior to my wedding and thank god I did!

His advice, knowledge sharing and support throughout the whole process was second to none. His communication from start to finish was absolutely amazing. On the day of the wedding it was like we’d known him forever. He was such a calming influence, kept everything on track and was such a laugh to have around. We have just received our photos and wow, it’s like reliving the day going through the album. He captured the day so perfectly. He’s been so much more than ‘just’ a photographer and we can’t thank him enough!!
