Colshaw Hall Wedding Photography

Colshaw Hall is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph at in Cheshire. The Grade II listed hall is owned by the Irlam family and is situated in Over Peover just outside of Knutsford. With fantastic grounds that are exclusively yours on a wedding day this venue is such a sort after wedding venue. Once you tie the knot in the Ceremony Hall or if you’re lucky enough to get married in one of the two licensed garden areas, the magnificent Peel suite is where the wedding breakfast and evening reception take place. There is of course the beautiful walled garden area for the drinks reception which is just the perfect space for a fantastic wedding.
Rebecca & Adam were joined by around 100 of their friends and family at Colshaw Hall and it was such a beautiful day to be a part of. I have known Adam & Rebecca for a number of years now as we have a couple of mutual friends – so it was great to be asked to photograph their wedding.
I started the day with Rebecca and her bridesmaids before catching up with Adam and his two best men in the morning. After they tied the knot it was time for confetti which was ace and then the drinks reception. Everyone was having a great time and enjoying the canapés and the drinks were flowing nicely, everyone enjoyed the Cheshire sun – it was certainly a beautiful day.

Couples portraits at Colshaw Hall

Rebecca & Adam were really lucky with the weather today which made it a perfect day to get married. At the end of the drinks reception we had a small amount of formal family photos to do and then we headed out into the grounds of this stunning Cheshire wedding venue for some couples portraits as all the guests made their way into the Peel suite for the speeches. They were great and the two best men had prepared a video all about the groom which was hilarious and such a great idea.

Evening wedding party at Colshaw Hall

Having known the bride and groom for a few years I knew the party was going to be good, they had asked me to stay until 10.30pm which was perfect. The dance floor was packed for most the evening and the Flynn & Tonics were fantastic all night. The Peel suite really is a top place to have your evening party and I love photographing here.

What the Bride & Groom said about Andy Griffiths Photography at Colshaw Hall

“Words can’t describe how amazing Andy was from start to finish…he captured our wedding perfectly!

everything was so stress free and we actually got to enjoy our wedding! having already known Andy for a few years through mutual friends and seeing his work, there was no hesitation in choosing him as our photographer and it was one of the best things we could have done.

Andy straight away put the bridal party, groomsmen and all the guests at ease and through the day he blended in perfectly getting the best photos, better than we could have ever wished for.

We can’t thank him enough!!”

Relaxed, Natural & Unobtrusive Wedding Photography

My style of photography is relaxed, natural and unobtrusive, capturing the day as it happens. What that means is almost completely unposed wedding photography throughout the whole day. I want you to spend time with your friends and family and ignore me. If you’re getting married at Colshaw Hall or anywhere else then please get in touch.

Colshaw Hall Useful Information

What is the history of Colshaw Hall ?

Colshaw Hall is a Grade II-listed building that was built in 1903 for textile magnates, the Peel family. It is a Tudor-style manor house that was designed by renowned Cheshire architect John Douglas who was also responsible for building projects for Prime Minister William Gladstone and soap giant William Lever.

The building has been an important part of the local community for many years and at one time was used as an auxiliary hospital during World War One. Severely damaged by fire in the twentieth century it was bought by the Irlam family in 2001 who restored the hall and its grounds to its former beauty and Colshaw Hall became a family home again. David Irlam and his wife decided that it was simply too big to be a family home so opened up their home as what you see today – one of the finest wedding venues in the country. Still owned by the Irlam family this is a family run business that know how to deliver the finest of service and weddings.

Colshaw Hall and sister venue Merrydale Manor are located in Over Peover; a lovely village just outside Knutsford and within easy reach of Chester, Manchester and Macclesfield.

"What a photographer!"

Andy was the ultimate supplier. From the second we enquired with Andy, he was very responsive and straight away put us at ease. Talking to Andy, i felt as though i had known him for years. On the day he was amazing with all our guests and our wedding photos speak for themselves. He was super discreet and just snapped pictures of the whole day without us noticing. I could not recommend Andy enough.
